Matt + Courtney

Wedding

Covid 19 and all of its restrictions tried to get in the way of so many of Courtney and Matt’s wedding plans. The restaurant they were going to eat at closed. The hotel they had reserved shut down for the month. The courthouse windows were busted out the week before the wedding. BUT NONE OF THIS STOPPED THEM FROM GETTING MARRIED!

I was so impressed with how calm Courtney was every time we communicated about the many changes being thrown her way. I honestly think it is because she and Matt were so focused on what was most important that day: The two of them getting married.

And you know what? The day was absolutely beautiful. The sun popped out on a typically cold and wet January day in Portland. The Heathman Hotel, where they stayed, was a beautiful backdrop for indoor portraits when we needed a break from the wind. While the Multnomah County Courthouse had to board up their windows for a few weeks, the white backdrop with the marbled pillars, made for a minimal and beautiful ceremony backdrop, that only a few people will ever have the opportunity to use. In order to limit the number of people they had contact with, Courtney did her own hair and makeup. Not only did she look stunning, it also made for memories with her dad helping her hold her mirror to finish her hair. These are all unique moments to a true pandemic wedding that will live on in stories forever for the two of them.

Thank you Courtney and Matt for being so kind and appreciative to me the whole day. It was an honor to be able to witness this special moment in your love story.
